Stainless Steel 431 Round Bars and Rods are martensitic stainless steels that have a controlled carbon content of approximately 0.20% and are primarily composed of 15–17% Chromium and 1.25–2.5% Nickel. Excellent high-strength qualities and moderate corrosion resistance are made possible by this composition. Following heat treatment, 431 provides hardness levels of 30 to 40 HRC and tensile strengths of up to 850 MPa. Additionally, it has good torque strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion cracking from stress and fatigue. Because of its mechanical characteristics, SS 431 can be used in high-load and high-performance settings, particularly those where corrosion resistance and strength are crucial.
