In order to improve corrosion resistance, particularly in reducing environments, titanium Gr 11 forgings—a modified form of Grade 1 titanium—are stabilised with a tiny addition of palladium (0.12–0.25%). Titanium (balance), oxygen (maximum 0.18%), iron (maximum 0.20%), nitrogen (maximum 0.03%), hydrogen (maximum 0.015%), and carbon (maximum 0.08%) make up its usual composition. A tensile strength of roughly 345 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and exceptional ductility with elongation exceeding 24% are among its mechanical attributes.
