Houston-based George Metals is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality stainless steel products with precision-engineered solutions for tough applications. Some of their specialty products include Stainless Steel 904L Forgings, renowned for excellent corrosion resistance and strength in extreme conditions. The firm employs advanced forging methods and rigorous quality checks to guarantee dimension accuracy, mechanical performance, and long-term durability. Through customer-driven management and extensive industry knowledge, George Metals provides 904L forgings to industries like chemical processing, marine, and oil & gas, building a solid reputation for dependability and quality in stainless steel solutions.
904L Forgings are produced from a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with low carbon content with added copper for enhanced resistance to powerful reducing acids. The chemical composition usually consists of 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper, with extremely low carbon (max 0.02%). These forgings offer outstanding mechanical properties such as a tensile strength of approximately 490 MPa and yield strength of 220 MPa, in addition to excellent toughness and ductility. The forging process improves the material’s structural consistency, making 904L suitable for applications where parts need high strength and better corrosion performance.
