Stainless Steel 431 Square Bars/Rods are made of martensitic stainless steel, which has a low carbon content of about 0.20% and contains 15.0–17.0% chromium and 1.20–2.50% nickel. The strength and corrosion resistance of this alloy are well-balanced. It can be heat-treated to produce strength of roughly 600 MPa and high tensile strength, usually between 850 and 1000 MPa. Additionally, the material has good toughness and moderate resistance to corrosion, particularly in mildly corrosive and marine environments. After hardening and tempering, its strength, machinability, and hardness all considerably increase.
