Stainless Steel 416 Bars and Rods are among the high-end stainless steel products that George Metals, a reputable manufacturer and supplier in Houston, USA, is known for providing. George Metals serves the various demands of the automotive, machinery, and aerospace industries with an emphasis on quality, dependability, and client satisfaction. Their 416 stainless steel bars and rods are perfect for high-speed machining applications because of their exceptional machinability. Supported by cutting-edge production technology and stringent quality control, George Metals guarantees that every product satisfies international standards, providing customers with reliable performance, timely deliveries, and affordable solutions in both domestic and international markets.
Free-machining martensitic stainless steel, stainless steel 416 bars and rods have a chromium content of 12–14%, a carbon content of 0.15%, and up to 0.15% sulphur added to enhance machinability. They can be heat-treated for increased hardness and have a high tensile strength of 550–700 MPa. Of all the stainless steels, 416 has the best machinability and the best resistance to mild corrosive environments. It provides dependable mechanical performance in situations where machining speed and dimensional accuracy are crucial, but it is not appropriate for applications involving extreme corrosion.

Applications requiring excellent machinability and moderate corrosion resistance frequently use stainless steel 416 bars and rods. Gears, shafts, bolts, nuts, fasteners, and valves used in pump, food processing, and automotive components are examples of common applications. The steel is appropriate for complex parts needing a high degree of precision because it is easily machined and hardened. 416 rods are also used in industries like instrumentation and aerospace for parts that are exposed to moderate mechanical stress and light corrosion. It is a popular material for mass-produced parts that need little post-machining processing because of its affordability and simplicity of fabrication.
