A low-carbon variant of 316 stainless steel, 316L Hex Bars/Rods are made up of roughly 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and very little Carbon (≤0.03%). In chloride environments, this composition improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. With a tensile strength of about 485 MPa and a yield strength of about 170 MPa, 316L provides exceptional mechanical strength and weldability.
