Brian Fasteners‘ Nitronic 40 bars and rods are a testament to its commitment to specialty alloys of high performance in industrial-grade applications.
Nitronic 40 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains 20–22% chromium, 9–11% manganese, 0.1–0.25% nitrogen, and trace nickel. No molybdenum content is there. Tensile strength is between 800 to 1,200 MPa, yield strength from 500 to 900 MPa and elongation from 30–60%. Due to high nitrogen and manganese content, Nitronic 40 exhibits enhanced strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion, especially in reducing acid and brine solution environments. The alloy exhibits performance at high temperatures, up to a level of around 600 °C, and provides adequate stress corrosion cracking resistance.

Nitronic 40 bars are available in both rough and smooth finishes, depending on the manufacturing process and customer requirements. Smooth finishes are typical for applications needing better aesthetics or precision.
Nitronic 40 rods are available in sizes ranging from 3mm to 300mm diameter. Finishes include bright, polished, black, and rough-turned, catering to industrial and decorative applications.
Yes, Nitronic 40 bar can be welded using standard methods like TIG, MIG, and shielded metal arc welding. Preheating is not required, and post-weld annealing ensures optimal properties.
Brian Fasteners‘ rods and bars of Nitronic 40 are used for chemical processing equipment, such as reactor internals, valves, and piping, because of their acid and chloride resistance. In the oil and gas industry, they perform downhole components, pump parts, and wellheads that are exposed to sour or saltwater environments. Due to their toughness and strength, they can be applied in high-stress structural and mechanical components. They are also applied in marine fittings and desalination equipment. Nitronic 40‘s durability and flexibility guarantee Brian Fasteners‘ bars meet performance requirements in industries that need corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
