Hastelloy Square Bars are generally made up of high nickel content (approximately 57%–60%) blended with molybdenum (15%–17%), chromium (14.5%–16.5%), and iron, and trace amounts of elements including cobalt, tungsten, and vanadium—depending on the grade. The special composition offers excellent pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance in oxidizing as well as reducing environments. Its mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of about 690–800 MPa, yield strength ranging from 275–355 MPa, and good ductility with elongation of 40% or more. Hastelloy also has excellent strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, which makes it suitable for harsh chemical and thermal conditions.
