Hastelloy C276 is a nickel–molybdenum–chromium alloy containing small amounts of tungsten and low carbon. The chemical composition is ~16% Cr, 15–17% Mo, 4–7% W, along with Fe, Co, and C < 0.01%. Tensile strength of the alloy is 500–800 MPa, the yield strength is approximately 240–400 MPa, and the elongation is 35–55%. It offers exceptional resistance to crevice, pitting, and chloride stress corrosion cracking, and is also stable in reducing acids and oxidizing acids. It offers excellent high-temperature performance and can be used up to 400 °C with good creep and oxidation resistance.
