Hastelloy C22 is a nickel–chromium–molybdenum–tungsten alloy containing ~22–23% Cr, 13–14% Mo, and 3–4% W with iron and cobalt along with <0.02% carbon. It shows tensile strength of 550–900 MPa, yield strength of 250–500 MPa, and elongation of 35–60%. The alloy is extremely resistant to oxidizing and reducing environments, i.e., concentrated mineral and organic acids and chloride-bearing environments. It resists pitting, stress-corrosion cracking, and erosion, and is capable of performing well at high temperatures up to approximately 450 °C with good thermal stability.
