Houston, USA-based Brian Fasteners manufactures and exports Hastelloy B3 rods and bars by following accurate melting and shaping processes to provide superior resistance against severely reducing acids. Every bar goes through strict examination protocols to ensure dimensional and metallurgical quality. Best for sulfuric and hydrochloric acid usage, Brian Fasteners offers secure supply, responsiveness in lead-time, and technical assistance. Supplying chemical, petrochemical, and pollution-control industries, the firm provides specific sizing and performance guarantee. As a reliable alloy expert, Brian Fasteners provides high-integrity Hastelloy B3 bars designed for aggressive corrosive exposures.
Hastelloy B3 is a Ni–Mo–Fe alloy that has ~29–32% Mo, 1–2% Cr, and <0.02% carbon. Also contains iron and trace amounts of manganese and silicon. Tensile strength 450–700 MPa, yield strength 200–400 MPa, and elongation 30–60%. The alloy exhibits very good resistance to reducing acids such as sulfuric and hydrochloric at moderate to high temperatures. Though less suitable for oxidizing conditions, it is excellent under pure reducing conditions. Mechanical properties are stable under high temperature, for which it is appropriate for heat exchangers and piping conveying strong, reducing media.

Hastelloy B3 bars offer exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid, excellent weldability, and superior corrosion resistance in aggressive environments. They also provide high strength and durability at elevated temperatures.
Yes, Hastelloy B3 rods can be welded using appropriate welding techniques. It is important to control heat input to avoid potential cracking or damage to the material.
Hastelloy B3 rods are available in various sizes, typically ranging from small diameters (1/8" to 1") to larger dimensions depending on the application. They are commonly offered in finishes such as cold-finished, hot-rolled, or polished for specific requirements.
Brian Fasteners‘ Hastelloy B3 rods and bars find applications in equipment that handles sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, like reactors, flanges, and chemical plant piping. They are well suited for acid production and regeneration systems. They find applications in petrochemical applications in waste acid processing and acid regeneration units. They are also applied in brine heaters and acid-related heat exchangers. With accurate production and resistance to corrosion, Brian Fasteners‘ B3 bars provide longevity and safety in conditions that include aggressive reducing acids at high temperatures.
