Brian Fasteners, a Houston, USA-based company, provides expert manufacturing and supply of Hastelloy B2 bars and rods. By employing controlled melting and hot working operations, the company manufactures material that is resistant to highly reducing acid environments. Every bar is strictly inspected to ensure dimensional and metallurgical accuracy. Ideally suited for sulfuric, hydrochloric, and phosphoric acids, Brian Fasteners offers customized sizing, fast lead times, and technical support. Used in chemical and petrochemical applications, the company guarantees reliable delivery and performance assurance. Brian Fasteners‘ Hastelloy B2 bars provide consistency in severe, non-oxidizing commercial acids.
Hastelloy B2 is a nickel–molybdenum–iron alloy with ~28–30% Mo, <1.5% Cr, and <0.02% carbon. It has iron and traces of manganese and silicon. Tensile strength is generally 400–650 MPa, yield strength 180–350 MPa, and elongation 30–60%. The alloy is highly resistant to reducing acid medium such as sulfuric, hydrochloric, and phosphoric acid at different concentrations. It retains its strength at high temperatures, and it withstands corrosion efficiently in the case of pure acids, although less under oxidizing conditions.

Yes, Hastelloy B2 rods can be welded. However, it requires proper techniques and filler materials to avoid cracking due to their sensitivity to heat-affected zones.
Hastelloy B2 bars offer exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid and other corrosive environments, along with excellent weldability and high strength. They are highly resistant to pitting, stress corrosion, and localized corrosion.
Hastelloy B2 rods are available in various sizes, ranging from small diameters to larger rods, with common diameters including 0.125 inches to 4 inches. They typically come in a polished or cold-drawn finish, depending on the application requirements.
Brian Fasteners‘ Hastelloy B2 rods and bars are used in equipment that deals with corrosive reducing acids—like sulfuric and phosphoric acid reactors, tanks, and piping. Within the petrochemical and fertilizer industries, they are used in acid regenerators and purification systems. They are appropriate for brine processing, acid storage, and severe chemical reactors. Their accurate manufacture allows for close tolerances and better corrosion resistance in highly acidic applications. Brian Fasteners provides value-engineered B2 bars with consistent performance in industrial acid service and specialty chemical handling systems.
