Brian Fasteners provides Carbon Steel EN-353 Bars from Houston, a chromium–molybdenum strength alloy steel. EN-353 is oil-hardenable and is usually applied to structural and power transmission uses. Our EN‑353 bars are of BS 970 standards and are provided with full certification. They are precision-finished and quality-checked, offering them to be found suitable for challenging mechanical applications.
EN-353 usually has ~0.40–0.50% C, 0.50–0.80% Mn, 0.40–0.60% Cr, and 0.20–0.30% Mo. Oil-hardened and tempered, bars have tensile strengths of 800–1000 MPa and yield of ~600–800 MPa. Good toughness and wear resistance with hard, tough surface.

Common finishes for Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar include hot rolled, cold drawn, polished, bright, and ground. These finishes provide varying levels of smoothness, texture, and corrosion resistance for different applications.
Yes, Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar can be heat-treated. It is commonly heat-treated through processes like carburizing and quenching to improve its hardness, strength, and wear resistance.
Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar is commonly used for manufacturing high-strength components like gears, shafts, and axles, often in automotive, industrial machinery, and engineering applications requiring high tensile strength and wear resistance.
Used in power transmission shafts, gears, spindles, cams, and loading machine parts. Due to its strength and fatigue characteristics, EN–353 finds applications in powertrain components, presses, linkages, and structural frameworks. EN–353 bars are supplied by Brian Fasteners to industrial machinery and engineering equipment applications demanding high strength and endurance.
