Brian Fasteners provides high-quality Beryllium Copper C17500 Rods and Bars, designed in Houston for high-strength, high-conductivity applications. C17500 contains nickel as a second major alloying component, with high thermal conductivity and hardness following age hardening. C17500 is employed in resistance welding and power transmission hardware and is appreciated for its performance at thermal and electrical stress. Supplied to ASTM B441 standards, our C17500 bars are precision-machined and available in multiple tempers. With high workability and toughness, they are an ideal solution for customers needing strength, conductivity, and longevity in one alloy.
C17500 has ~0.4–0.7% beryllium, ~1.4–2.2% nickel, and the balance copper. Conductivity is 22–60% IACS depending on temper. Tensile strength is over 800 MPa following heat treatment. The alloy provides a balance of moderate electrical conductivity with high hardness and good resistance to wear. It is non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant, and can be machined, forged, and age-hardened for further strength.
