Comprises ~5.6% zinc, ~2.5% magnesium, ~1.6% copper, with trace chromium; remainder aluminum. Tensile strength ~560 MPa, yield ~500 MPa in T6 temper. Heat-treatable, excellent fatigue performance, good corrosion resistance, and low machinability. Not weldable by usual processes.
