Brian Fasteners provides Aluminium 5083 Forgings from our Houston plant, specializing in marine-grade forgings with high corrosion resistance and strength. Specially suited for heavy–duty welded and structural applications, 5083 forgings are shipbuilding and pressure vessel essentials. Compliant with ASTM B247 standards and shipped with complete documentation, our forgings are precision-made for long-lasting performance under tough conditions. Brian Fasteners provides quick fabrication, traceability, and quality-approved marine-grade solutions.
Aluminum 5083 forgings contain 94.3-97.3% Al, 4.0-4.9% Mg, 0.4-1.0% Mn, with smaller amounts of Chromium (0.05-0.25%), and trace other elements, which include Silicon 0.4%, Copper 0.1%, and Zinc 0.25%. The aluminum alloy exhibits very good corrosion resistance, particularly for marine applications. Its mechanical properties are tensile strength 290 MPa, yield strength 230 MPa, and an elongation between 10 and 15%. It also has high fatigue strength and good weldability; hence suitable for applications in shipbuilding, pressure vessels, or other high-stress environment requiring durability with resistance to cracking.
