Brian Fasteners provides high-quality Aluminium 5083 Bars and Rods from Houston, USA, for high-strength and corrosion-resistant applications. As a strong, highly weldable, marine-grade alloy, 5083 is best suited for defense, shipping, offshore, and transportation industries. The alloy maintains strength in welding and is resistant to attack by marine waters and industrial chemicals. Our 5083 bars meet ASTM B221 and other international specifications. With quick turnaround, mill certification, and strict dimensional tolerance, Brian Fasteners is your go-to supplier of 5083 aluminum bars for demanding service conditions.
Aluminium 5083 has ~4.0–4.9% magnesium, 0.4–1.0% manganese, and 0.05–0.25% chromium. It has tensile strength of 275–350 MPa and yield strength of around 215 MPa in H116 or H321 temper. It is non heat treatable but cold working makes the hardness improve. 5083 possesses fine corrosion resistance, even in seawater and industrial atmospheres. It is nicely machinable and possesses high fatigue strength, particularly after welding. It maintains formability and toughness down to sub-zero temperatures and therefore is apt for cryogenic use.

Yes, Aluminium 5083 bars are fully recyclable. Recycling preserves the material's properties, reduces energy consumption, and minimizes environmental impact, making it an eco-friendly choice for sustainable manufacturing.
To maintain Aluminium 5083 bars, regularly clean them with mild detergent and water to prevent corrosion. Avoid abrasive materials, and apply protective coatings if exposed to harsh environments for enhanced durability.
When installing Aluminium 5083 bars and rods, consider proper welding techniques, corrosion protection, accurate measurements, compatibility with other materials, and ensuring proper handling to avoid surface damage or distortion.
5083 bars are heavily utilized in oil rigs, tanks, marine hulls, LNG carriers, and armor plating. The bars are also preferred in naval and defense applications because of their high strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to corrosion. The alloy is also utilized in refrigerated vehicles, fuel tanks, and road tankers. In construction, it is used in structural supports that are subjected to chemicals or moisture. 5083 works satisfactorily in aerospace ground support and cryogenic applications. Brian Fasteners delivers professionally manufactured 5083 rods to industries that require strength, corrosion resistance, and formability at harsh environments.
