Select Brian Fasteners for alloy bars that offer performance, reliability, and value.
AISI 4145 has 0.43–0.48% carbon, 0.75–1.0% manganese, 0.8–1.1% chromium, and 0.15–0.25% molybdenum. It provides high tensile strength (usually 825–1080 MPa), good toughness, and good hardenability. Yield strength is 585–835 MPa. The steel is suitable for high–stress conditions and is usually supplied in a quenched and tempered condition. Its alloy composition improves its wear resistance, and it is used for large cross-section parts. While a bit less machinable than 4140, its superior mechanical properties make it the best choice for severe-load applications.

4145 Bars are applied in drilling tools, tool joints, subs, crossovers, and other oil & gas equipment components. Due to their high tensile strength and impact toughness, they are applicable in heavy-duty mechanical parts and downhole tools. They are also utilized in forging dies, power transmission parts, and structural mining and energy supports. The steel‘s high torque and pressure endurance capabilities make it a necessity in tough conditions. 4145 alloy guarantees operation under harsh operating conditions where failure cannot be tolerated.
